A weekend near Daylesford

A slow, delicious escape of farmshop mornings, honey-stone villages and long evenings back at the cottage.

Lovegrove Cottage rests in the quiet village of Churchill, around seven minutes from Daylesford Farm and Chipping Norton. Close enough to dip into the best of the Cotswolds, secluded enough to feel like a proper escape.

Friday: arrive, exhale

Settle in, pour something lovely and stroll past Churchill’s village green and All Saints Church as the light softens. Supper might mean a table at The Chequers, or a bottle of wine and something delicious around the cottage’s round dining table.

Saturday: Daylesford and honey-stone villages

Morning

Begin at Daylesford Farm: coffee, breakfast, flowers and the irresistible farmshop shelves.

Afternoon

Meander through Kingham, Oddington or Stow-on-the-Wold, stopping wherever a pretty lane, antique shop or garden catches your eye.

Evening

Come home to Churchill, light the lamps and let the evening stretch out—perhaps after dinner in a tucked-away country pub.

Sunday: ancient stones and a long lunch

Take the winding road to the Rollright Stones, where a mysterious stone circle has watched over the hills for thousands of years. Or stay close to home with a lazy Churchill walk followed by a lingering Sunday lunch.

Our favourite kind of weekend: nowhere to rush to, nowhere you have to be—just beautiful places, good food and time together.
